Nuanu Welcomes the New Year with Indonesia's Next Wave of Electronic Music
Publish on 29 December 2025
Start your year with 20+ emerging Indonesian alternative musicians performing at Nuanu Creative City
While New Year’s Eve celebrations across the island are often defined by international headliners and predictable lineups, a different current has been building beneath the surface. One led by Indonesian producers, DJs, and live performers who are shaping their own language of electronic and alternative music. This New Year’s Eve, Nuanu Creative City steps fully into that movement.
In collaboration with PORTAL, Nuanu became the exclusive home of PORTAL in Bali, presenting a full Indonesian lineup of more than 20+ emerging electronic and alternative musicians. The night marks an intentional shift from spectacle-driven countdowns, toward more future-facing celebration of artists who are experimenting, building communities, and expanding what electronic music in Indonesia can sound and feel like. Designed as a gathering space for discovery and connection, PORTAL x Nuanu positions Nuanu Creative City as a must-visit destination to close the year and welcome the next through creativity and culture.
“We want Nuanu to be a place artists choose and trust,” said Lev Kroll, CEO of Nuanu Creative City. “Our aim for the new year is not a typical party destination, but a melting pot for artists to express themselves and dive into Indonesian authenticity. Through platforms like Portal, we open that space - bringing artists onto the stage and inviting audiences from around the world to experiment how they can resonate with the ideas and learn from it."
Portal unfolds across two curated stages: Detak and Sumbu. Each is designed to champion emerging artists within distinct creative contexts. Detak focuses on rhythm-driven electronic music, giving rising DJs and live performers a high-quality platform to explore movement, energy, and contemporary club culture. Sumbu centers on live, hybrid, and audiovisual performances, offering space for artists working across sound, visuals, and experimental formats to push beyond conventional performance structures. Together, the two stages reflect Nuanu Creative City’s commitment to nurturing new creative voices through artistic experimentation, collaboration, and discovery.
The night features performances by 24 emerging Indonesian artists spanning electronic, live, hybrid, and audiovisual formats, including Asylum Uniform, Bagvs, Big Chun a.k.a. Naken, Dekadenz, Gumatat Gumitit Gospell (live set), JayDawn & Wukir Suryadi, Kuntari (organic set), Mairakilla, Non Archive, Raissa Febriani, Verdy Arien b2b Magis, Txtext (live set), Parakuat (live set), Alkahfa (hybrid set), Paradata (A/V set), Su66en9 (hybrid set), Pure! Records, Linda b2b Masagi b2b Masayu, Barbara Pleaser, Temu Gerak, and Putu Septa ft. Janurangga—collectively reflecting the diversity and experimentation shaping Indonesia’s contemporary alternative music scene.
