Publish on 18 July 2026
Developed in collaboration with Ruang Fungsi and Pando Art Collective, Repetisi Memori and Lucid Dreams present two independent exhibitions at Labyrinth Art Gallery.
Nuanu Creative City presents Lucid Dreams and Repetisi Memori, two concurrent exhibitions opening at Labyrinth Art Gallery from 18 July to 18 August 2026. Developed in collaboration with Bali-based Ruang Fungsi and Yogyakarta-rooted Pando Art Collective, the exhibitions bring together 17 contemporary artists working across painting, installation and mixed media.
The collaboration reflects Nuanu’s continued commitment to working with independent art communities from across Indonesia, expanding its year-round visual arts programme while creating opportunities for artists and audiences from different regions to connect through contemporary art.
"For us, welcoming independent collectives into Nuanu and seeing how artists, institutions, and audiences connect here is an immense honor. As a platform for creativity and cultural exchange, we're excited to see the conversations that emerge and the way our guests and residents engage with these experiences." Lev Kroll, CEO of Nuanu Creative City
Founded in Yogyakarta, Pando Art Collective supports emerging contemporary artists through exhibitions and collaborative initiatives. At Nuanu, the collective presents Lucid Dreams, an exhibition exploring the shifting relationship between imagination, memory and the subconscious, curated by Samuel David. Through painting, installation and mixed media, the participating artists invite visitors into surreal visual worlds shaped by symbolism, intuition and personal experience.
Lucid Dreams features works by Faisal Siddiq, Afiq Andico, Arif Fiyanto, Rifqi Soenandar, Aly Waffa, Ari Wuryanto and Ijal Mariachi.
Meanwhile, Ruang Fungsi, an independent art collective based in Bali, presents Repetisi Memori, an exhibition examining memory as something continually reconstructed through lived experience, place and time. Through artist-led exhibitions and collaborative programmes, Ruang Fungsi has become known for supporting experimentation within Bali’s contemporary art scene.
Repetisi Memori features works by Denny Novikar, Sirin Farid Stevy, Surya Subratha, Ade Habibie, Andre Yoga, Ichi Dilaga, Aharimu, Sastia Naresvari, Naomi Samara and Natasha Lubis
“Some of the most compelling conversations in contemporary art today emerge from independent collectives, yet they often remain confined within their own communities. At Nuanu, we aim not only to present the works of artists, but also to create space for the communities that support and shape their creative practices. Our collaboration with Ruang Fungsi and Pando Art Collective is a step toward connecting creative ecosystems from different cities across Indonesia and building relationships that can continue to grow in the future.” said Kelsang Dolma, Director of Special Art Project, Nuanu Creative City
"Pando was built on a simple belief that no artist should have to grow alone. Bringing our artists to Nuanu is us extending our roots beyond the archipelago, reaching toward new ground and new audiences. We see this not as a usual exhibition, but as the start of a longer exchange between creative communities who are ready to grow together." said Avi Tejo Bhaskoro Co-Founder of Pando Art Collective
“Ruang Fungsi believes independent art spaces grow through collaboration. Working with Nuanu allows us to introduce the artists we work with to new audiences while strengthening connections within Indonesia’s contemporary art community.” said Denny Novikar, Founder of Ruang Fungsi.
The exhibitions will be on view at Labyrinth Art Gallery from 18 July to 18 August 2026. Admission is free for Nuanu visitors
